Character Origin

Valkyrie, also known as Brunnhilde, is a powerful Asgardian warrior from Marvel Comics. She first appeared in The Avengers #83 (1970), created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema. Inspired by Norse mythology, Valkyries are tasked by Odin to guide the souls of fallen heroes to Valhalla.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Valkyrie is portrayed by Tessa Thompson, debuting in Thor: Ragnarok (2017). This version differs from the comic original, presenting a more modern, independent warrior with a tragic past.
